POWER POINT FROM TODAY: Dear Students- Unfortunately, you've crashed.
You and your classmates must survive. You are now stranded on a desert island. No adults. No technology works. The plane you crashed on is unusable and everything in it is destroyed, except the few items below. You are seriously stuck. So, your job is to decide what you need the most out of the items below, rank them as a whole class. You can only keep 15 things, as you don’t have time to salvage everything. So make a quick choice! What will you keep? What is the most important? Rank everything 1 to 15 in terms of its important, and decide what you can leave behind. Be fast, time may be up at any moment. Come up with a plan for how you will survive using those pieces of equipment- write it down. Work efficiently- you don't know when time might be up! Step 1: Elect two leaders- they must win by democratic vote. Step 2: Two team leaders- pick your teams (it will probably be two groups of 15), and come up with your top 15 items, rank them 1-15, and enact a plan. Metal Hooks Fish Pole Fire Starter Blankets (12) Oars Pocket Knife Rum (5 bottles) Copper Wire A burlap backpack 14 pairs of running shoes 20 ft. Rope Machete (dull) Lure Straw Hat Compass Burlap Sacks (3) Metal Cups (4) Pork (4 lbs.) Peanuts (5lb. bag) Forks Plates Raft Hand lotion (3 bottles) Step 3: Decide which plan is best between the two. The accuracy of your choices in items, their order, and a plan, will determine weather or not you will be "rescued."
